Arne Trumann suffered from a septic shock in February 2012. Having been in artificial coma for four weeks and in rehabilitation for further 2 1/2 months, he could resume his work as a project manager in a northern German industrial company after altogether 8 months of illness.
It is his particular concern to raise awareness for sepsis in the public and also among the physicians. The emergency physician he called for help first, didn't recognize the sepsis - that's the reason why he has drawn attention to this specific problem on several occasions.
He already was part of some TV reports about this topic and he also held lectures at medical congresses or panel discussions to draw political and public attention to sepsis.
Arne Trumann has 3 children and lives in Zeven, Lower Saxony.
